[Review] What They Don't Talk About When They Talk About Love

Ya, film ini emang panjang sekali judulnya Agak susah sih ketika lo mau nyebut nama filmnya pas mau beli tiket. Tapi ya sudahlah ya. Terbayar juga dengan kenikmatan ketika menonton filmnya.

Film ini merupakan film garapan Mouly Surya. Sejujurnya, gue belom tau dengan jelas siapa Mouly Surya ini. Secara, gue baru suka film Indonesia hampir setahun belakangan ini. Tapi kalo lihat di wikipedia, mba Mouly Surya ini merupakan Sutradara film Fiksi yang berhasil menjadi Sutradara Terbaik di ajang FFI (Festival Film Indonesia).

Mari kita sederhanakan dulu What They Don't Talk About When They Talk About Love ini menjadi Don't Talk Love. Biar gampang nulis dan bacanya juga.

Sejujurnya, yang bikin gue tertarik nonton film ini pertama adalah karena film ini diputer di Sundance Film Festival. Dan entah kenapa banyak filmmaker, aktris/aktor, aktivis festival film, dll yang juga menyarankan untuk nonton film ini di bioskop. Tapi ketika nanya temen kantor gue yang udah nonton film ini, dia bilang "Hmmm gue sih gak suka ya sama filmnya". Tapi karena gue bukan tipe orang yang bilang film bagus karena banyak orang yang bilang film itu bagus, dan sebaliknya. Jadi mendingan gue langsung nonton di bioskop aja.

Film ini berceritakan tentang kaum disabilitas. Ada Karina Salim yang hanya bisa melihat dengan jarak 2cm. Ada Ayu Shita yang gak bisa ngelihat (Tuna Netra). Dan Nicholas Saputra yang gak bisa ngomong (Tuna Wicara). Dan beberapa tokoh lainnya. Film ini mengupas ketulusan kisah cinta para kaum disabilitas.

Karina salim (Diana) jatuh cinta dengan Andhika, seorang pria yang sering menggunakan topi. Keterbatasan dia untuk melihat tidak menghalanginya untuk merasakan perasaan jatuh cinta tersebut. Andhika juga merupakan seorang Tuna Netra, sehingga Diana berusaha sebagai mana mungkin dengan untuk mendapatkan perhatian dari Andhika.

Di sisi lain Nicholas Saputra (Edo), memiliki ketertarikan dengan Ayu Shita (Fitri). Edo yang merupakan anak penjaga warung jajan di sekolah. Dia sering mengamati saat Fitri sedang berbincang-bincang di meja menikmati jajanan sekolah, bahkan mengintip saat Fitri dan pacarnya sedang berhubungan intim di kamar. Ketika itu, Edo jatuh cinta pada Fitri, tetapi dia hanya bisa mencoleknya pada pertama kali, karena keterbatasannya untuk berbicara. Lama kelamaan, Edo pun belajar huruf braille dan surat-suratan dengan Fitri.

Keindahan Don't Talk Love terdapat pada insight yang ingin disampaikan. Ketika kebanyakan orang jatuh cinta karena tampang, harta, dan segalanya serta dapat mengutarakan cinta dengan sewajarnya. Film ini menyajikan sesuatu yang berbeda. Contohnya Diana dan Edo. Ketika Edo bisa menikmati kecantikan Fitri, tetapi dia tidak bisa mengungkapkannya dengan keterbatasan bicaranya. Di sisi lain, Fitri juga tidak bisa melihat bagaimana tampang edo.

Penggarapan yang luar biasa dari Mouly Surya, membuat film ini asik untuk dinikmati. Sedikitnya dialog yang diutarakan membuat film ini berasa semakin tulus yang digambarkan dengan akting para pemainnya. I love they way to act. Keindahan cerita, dialog, dan akting, semuanya ada di film ini. TOP!

Complete Saturday

Weekend is the perfect time to spend with your girlfriend/boyfriend, family or close mates. This weekend, i spent my time with my closemates. The first one, we attended Teteh's Wedding Party. Really glad to meet #metal08 big family.

Anyway, i went there with my partners in crime. Yudha and Debora. We recently, still growing our brand new business, Lumos Production. Teteh's prewedding photos are some of our products. These are the pictures that displayed in Teteh's Wedding Party.

After Teteh's wedding party, we didn't directly back to Jakarta. We went to Sentul. Yudha teached me and debo how to drive a car. That was my second time to learn how to drive a car. We also captured some photographs there.

We felt lil bit hungry and want to continue our trip to restaurant, cafe, warteg, or something like that. Finally, we decided to dine in Strawberry Cafe, Lenteng Agung. That was my first time in Strawberry Cafe. My first impression: "waaaaw, amazing". I think it would be comfortable. Buuuut.....not exceed than 10 second I sat, some teenagers beside me laughed out of loud at my ear. So annoying. I know that was not their fault, since in strawberry cafe is place for playing game with our friend and laugh freely. But, to be honest, maybe since I am not teen already, I didn't feel comfortable with the circumstances there. I need cozy place that quite enought to chit-chat with my mates. And we also played one of games there. I was a loser.

Caused by condition that felt us uncomfortable, we decided to move somewhere. And we thought, that Monas would be good destination. Yeah, we spent our night there, and I really happy, since i got many great photographs there. I'll show to you in the next post.

Aaaaah!! It was great saturday from morning till evening. Thank god. Thank mates :)

[Review] 9 Summers 10 Autumns The Movie

Saat tahun 2011, gue sudah dipertemukan dengan Novel yang satu ini. 9 Summers 10 Autums. Secara pribadi, gue bukan pembaca novel. Tapi gue emang suka dengan buku yang berhubungan dengan 'Self Development'. Ditambah lagi, pertama kali gue tau novel ini dari penulisnya langsung. Mas Iwan Setyawan pernah bicara di depan gue dan ratusan orang lainnya dan berbagi tentang kisah hidupnya itu. Mulai darisana lah, gue jatuh cinta sama yang namanya 9 Summers 10 Autumns.

Denger novel ini akan di-film-in, gue seneng banget. Ditambah tau, sutradaranya itu mas Ifa Isfansyah. Senengnya jadi berkali-kali lipat, karena gue yakin filmnya akan oke.

9 Summers 10 Autumns ini simpelnya, berceritakan tentang anak supir angkot yang tinggal di kota Malang, dia berhasil menjadi direktur salah satu perusahaan di New York. Makanya slogan, atau tagline buku ini "From Apple to Big Apple".

Cerita dari film ini sangatlah simpel dan mudah dinikmati. Kesederhanaan film ini tidaklah membuat film ini menjadi "murahan" dan "begitu aja". Karena, dibalik ceritanya yang simpel, gue suka dengan pengambilan gambar di film ini. Buat Gandang Warah dan tim sebagai DOP nya yang telah merumuskan segala macem angle kamera, kalian keren banget. Salah satu keunggulan film ini dari pengambilan gambarnya. Dan juga tone warna yang dibuat oleh colourist membuat film ini menjadi lebih sederhana dan enak untuk di nikmati.

Emang sepertinya mas Ifa Isfansyah gak pernah gagal dalam setiap karyanya. Di film ini, dia berhasil menyajikan sesuatu yang tidak flat. Walaupun mungkin dari cerita begitu saja dan mudah ketebak, tetapi mas Ifa merumuskan film ini dengan alur maju  mundur, sehingga tidak begitu membosankan. Ditambah lagi, akting dari beberapa pemain yang menurut gue oke mulai dari Ihsan Tarore yang dari gaya jalannya aja mirip banget sama mas Iwan Setyawan dan juga Ibu dan Bapak yang diperankan oleh Alex Komang dan Dewi Irawan membuat film ini semakin berkualitas.

Film ini memang penuh dengan inspirasi dan motivasi. Tetapi hal itu tidak diperlihatkan secara langsung seperti rasanya "digurui" oleh film. Tapi dengan kesederhanaan setiap kisah di film ini, mampu membuat emosi terpancing dengan adanya lika-liku di kehidupan seorang Iwan Setyawan.

Buat yang belom nonton, coba deh tonton di bioskop. Ajak pacar, temen, atau bokap nyokap juga oke kok. Kalo bukan kita yang nonton Film Indonesia, siapa lagi? Dan pastinya film ini mudah, sederhana dan berkualitas untuk dinikmati. Selamat menonton ;)

Aku memang tidak bisa memilih masa kecilku, tapi masa depan itu hanya kita yang hanya bisa melukiskannya.

Film itu cuma dua jam, makanya segalanya dibikin cepat. Emang kamu mau hidup kamu kayak di film, cuma dua jam?

Finally, We Met Again

How did you feel if you met your old mates? That's so undescribable. Last sunday, finally i met with my old mates. They are my bestfriends. We met in Junior High School. I and Bowo often gather since our house is quite close. But, for the others (Toro, Radit, Gugus), i never met them after 2004 maybe.

At 2004, we met in Jumbara (Jumpa Bakti Gembira), sounds like Jambore for Pramuka, but it's for Red Cross (PMR). We often gathered in PMI Cabang Jakarta Timur, Pondok Kopi. After we studied from school, we gathered there to learn about Family Care. We usually called it PK (Perawatan Keluarga).

The other old photos

I still didn't believe that i can met them yesterday. Since i just have their old mobile number. Randomly, i texted them and arranged the meeting. Fortunatelly, Gugus still use that number. Toro already changed his number and text to Radit was accepted by his mom. His number is used by her. Then she gave me Radit's number.

We gathered in Toro's home. We started it at 5 pm. Even Radit and Gugus came at past 7 p.m. But it's okay. We still can spent our night for having conversation until 11 p.m. Actually, Toro's home is also quite close. It just in Pondok Gede. The last i went to there before yesterday is at 2004 or 2005. I still use mikrolet, and have traffic jam, so the trip to there is too long. But, yesterday I and bowo can't reach it maybe just in 30 minutes.

Something that i still can't think about, i just have their old mobile number. We never texting, chatting, or something after 2004 or 2005. Our social media at that time just Friendster, and it already closed. I mean all of our  database is lost, so i can't use that to contact old mates. Even I don't know how they look like, what their activities or what their businesses via facebook before I texted them a few days ago.

I was sooooo very happy that can meet with my old bestfriends. One of them already have married. One of them will be married in this June. One of them already work in Surveyor and the other will start his business. So proud of all of them. I don't know what i have to write. There's a lot of things. Ya, you can imagine how was the story that we talked after we didn't meet about 9 years.

We have to gather regularly. Our home is quite close, mates. Do it again. Chatting again. And we have to go to Puncak and feel what we felt in 2004. Talking in outdoor at night. See you at Toro's wedding party, my mates :D

It just random post. My cousin want to try join Gadis Sampul Competition and she asked me to be her photographer. I thought, that chance for me in sharpening my capability.

I captured it in my house. Not in studio. Just looking for great wall, great lighting, set up external flash, house blower a.k.a fan HAHAHA and that's the result. I really want too keep my capability up in photography. Hope i'll be great professional photographer in a few years ahead :D
