[Review] Java Heat: Culture Display in Modern Way

The first time when my mate as Publicist invited me to attend pre-screening Java Heat, i didn't really know about this movie. I just ever read Java Heat via twitter at a glance. Then, i read synopsis from 21cineplex and also watched the trailer.

This movie is about Malik (Mickey Rourke) who want to get classic and valuable jewel of  Princess Sultana (Atiqah Hasiholan). Jake (Kellan Lutz), ex-navy from USA came to Yogyakarta to arrest Malik. But, he had been investigated by Letnan Hashim (Ario Bayu). Since, he is the man who have last conversation with Princess Sultana before the bomb accident happened. In the mean time, Jake and Letnan Hashim collaborate to arrest Malik, because Letnan Hashim's family is catched by Malik.

The first reason why I love this action movie, because it was produced by Indonesian. Both of crew or cast. Some people said "It is Hollywood movie which only take shots in Indonesia. Director, producer and core crew from Hollywood". But, according to Verdi Solaiman, "It also Indonesian movie. All crew and cast is mixed between Hollywood and Indonesia. Many of top Indonesian Filmmaker have a role in this movie production". Really proud to Indonesian filmmaker who always try to produce high quality movie.

I recommend all of you to watch this movie in cinema. Why? Because this movie has great sound that you have to enjoy clearly. And also, Yogyakarta beauty scenery such as Borobudur, Taman Sari, etc is one of the reason why I enjoy Java Heat. You won't feel bored in Cinema, since the action was awesome. The way the car crushing, the way the gun shooting, the way blood dripping will stimulate your eye to focus on the screen.

I personally think, this movie also great to be watched for foreigner who want to know about Indonesian Cultures. Conor Allyn as Director succeeded to show many cultures in this movie. Such as the way bathing the dead person, the way children kiss parent's hand when gonna go to school, call "Mas" as brother's calling, Pencak Silat as one of Indonesian martial, etc.

Java Heat isn't movie which only stick to action, but also it has great storyline. Even ending of this movie is not high as i expected, but it still one of the movie that you have watch in Cinema. You can  enjoy this movie since April 18th, 2013.

It's your chance to enjoy movie which Indonesian cast have great acting with Top Hollywood Actor such as Kellan Lutz (Twillight) and Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2). For whoever thought "Indonesian movie is so so. Just horror movie with some sex scene, etc". Please watch this movie. You won't underestimate Indonesian movie after watch this movie. Even it's collaborated by Hollywood.

Nonton di IMAX Gratisan

Rabu sore beruntung banget gue lagi ngecek timeline twitter dan ternyata @ReelQuote lagi bagi-bagiin tiket nonton gratis The Hobbit di IMAX. Secara gue belom nonton The Hobbit, belom pernah nyobain nonton di IMAX dan bahkan gratisan pula, rasanya dosa banget kalo gue melewatkan kesempatan ini. hahaha Ikutlah gue kuisnya, dan alhamdulillah menang.

Nobar jam 9 pagi di IMAX Gandaria City. Gue sampai sana jam 8.15 dan langsung nemuin orang bertopi hitam dengan tulisan Reel Quote dan ternyata itu mas Verdi Solaiman.

Ya yang bikin nobar ini beda dibanding yang lain menurut gue bukan karena filmnya The Hobbit atau tempatnya di IMAX, tapi service yang diberikan sama Reel Quote. Sebenernya simpel, tapi menurut gue he knows how to service people well. Bayangin aja, jam 12 malem temen gue baru kofirmasi ke mereka kalo gue bisa ikut dan ngasih nomor handphone gue, trus tengah malem itu juga gue di-SMS sebagai invitation dari Reel Quote. Trus bangun pagi pun di SMS-in lagi diingetin, trus pas sampai disana baru ada 3 orang yang datang pun bener-bener di SMS-in lagi, dan di SMS-in nya pun bener-bener personal.

"Kalian pada dimana? Nizar, Louise, Julisa sudah sampai"

Bener-bener sebegitu disebutnya nama kita didalam SMS yang di-blast ke para pemenang. Bahkan setelah acara kelar pun di SMS lagi semacam Thank You Message. Trus mas Verdi juga se-welcome itu ngajak ngomong kita, ngurusin tiket, pokoknya nge-treat kita kayak seolah-olah kita keluarga, dikenalin satu-satu ke para pemenang. Padahal kan kalo biasanya, kalo menang kuis gini yaudah sampe TKP, ambil tiket, panitia gak bakal ngobrol ramah tamah blablabla sama lo karena dia sibuk juga. Tapi gak sama mas Verdi, dia bener-bener se-welcome dan se-ramah itu kemaren.

Film The Hobbitnya menghibur lah dengan segala efek + audio visual yang disajikan di IMAX. Tapi gue pribadi "ya gitu aja". Dibilang suka banget sama filmnya enggak, dibilang enggak suka juga enggak. Ya "menghibur" lah. Keluar dari nonton, kita langsung foto bareng sama semua Reel Quote Crews (mas verdi nyebutnya gitu). Dan ternyata ketemu banyak temen gue juga yang pada nonton. Emang yah anaknya pada gratisan hahaha.
